I offer a variety of services that can be used independently or combined to help maximize wellbeing on all levels.

Psychotherapy: Traditional talk therapy can be extremely useful in addressing a wide variety of issues. I work most often with issues related to traumatic experiences, as well as with anxiety and gender and sexuality issues (including support for gender transition). I have extensive experience with veterans and adults of all ages. (Please note that for ethical reasons I am unable to provide traditional psychotherapy to close friends. I can offer other services in those cases.)

Yoga and Yoga Therapy: I am trained in several types of yoga, including Kundalini, restorative, iRest Yoga Nidra, and chair yoga. In individual yoga therapy sessions, we talk together and I create a personalized mix of yogic techniques that fit your needs and current situation. These can vary widely and are always tailored to your body and abilities. I also am available if you and others you know would like me to come teach you as a group at your home, office, or other location.

Energy Work and Chakra Balancing:
This form of energy work can be very soothing and complement other types of work you may be doing. Its focus is also tailored to your personal needs.

Death and Mourning Doula Services:

I am expanding these offerings on an ongoing basis. At this time, I am offering sessions to help clients and their loved ones discuss their final wishes and preferences for end-of-life care. These discussions can be difficult, but they save a great deal of heartache if they can be had now, before the situation becomes urgent. I also offer grief support after the loss of a loved one. In the near future I will be adding the option for personalized emotional support for those leaving this world and their loved ones, much like a birth doula offers emotional and practical support for families as a new life comes into this world.

Scheduling and Financial Policies

Session Rates:

In order to keep services as accessible as possible, I offer a sliding scale between $60 and $200 per 45-50 minute session. (The average rate for an individual therapy session with a psychologist in this area is $150.) For those who are able to offer a little more, it helps pay it forward and support those who need the lower rate. If nothing on this scale is accessible to you, please let me know and we can discuss options for you, including the Open Path program. Longer sessions of 75 minutes are available at a rate of $80-$220 per session.

If phone calls or texting sessions become lengthy (over 10 minutes) or frequent (more than once a week), a fee may apply.  Although in-person sessions tend to be most helpful, occasional phone or Skype sessions may be scheduled at the usual session rate if we both agree that they are needed at that time.

At times, requests for services such as letters, court appearances, or completing paperwork may arise. If the task takes longer than 15 minutes, it may be billed at a prorated amount for the amount of time required based on your agreed-upon session rate.

Cancellation Policy:

Your time is important to me, and I do my best to set it aside for you. If you cannot make a scheduled appointment, please notify me as soon as possible to cancel and reschedule so I can offer that slot to someone else. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may be charged a $30 cancellation fee. Cancelling and rescheduling more than three times in a row without coming in for a session may be subject to a no-show fee and discussion of whether or not this is the right timefor us to continue therapy.

No-Show Policy:

If you do not come for your scheduled appointment and do not contact me to cancel, you will be considered a no-show. The fee for no-shows is your regular full session rate.

Forms of Payment:

Payment is due at the time of session, regardless of whether the session is in-person or over phone/video chat. Cash, checks, credit cards, flexible spending account/health savings account cards, or PayPal to are all accepted. No-show and cancellation fees are due at your next session or within 30 days, whichever is sooner.  I do not accept insurance or bill your insurance company for you. If you would like the paperwork to submit to your insurance company or flexible spending account for reimbursement, I will be happy to provide that.
